



Menus play an important part in informing viewers of forthcoming programmes. This is the standard menu animation, played out at length here to fill time in a break in transmission.


Very rarely used are static captions such as these for 'The Nation Lottery People's Quiz' and 'EastEnders'.

In common with all BBC channels, BBC ONE uses end-credit promotions to highlight forthcoming programmes across BBC television and radio. The background for the ECP is usually a still from one of the main idents.




In the Autumn of 2008, the BBC revised its end credit promotions and in-programme pointers to a simpler, plain background format. This is the IPP for BBC ONE.






The first four captures show the revised end-credit promotion animation. The latter two show a variation.




Occasionally, the BBC shows what's on all four of its main channels in this multichannel 'Now' animation.

During the evening of 29th March 2009, BBC ONE reminded viewers of the clock change to British Summer Time with these cog-themed programme menus.




And from the evening of 29th October 2011, a similar reminder that the clocks go back as British Summer Time comes to an end.




For Easter 2009, BBC ONE themed its programme menus. The first shows a nest of eggs.


Four years later and still advertising the Chinese Grand Prix, an updated HD menu from 2013.
