Sunday 20th April 2014 marked the launch of BBC TWO in England fifty years ago and to mark the anniversary, the channel introduced a new series of animations featuring a fluffy '2' based on the 'Dog' ident from 1993. For the first week, these shorts were used as pointers between trailers and before regular idents, but from Saturday 26th April, have been used as idents in their own right throughout the day on BBC TWO England. BBC TWO Northern Ireland appear to only be using them as idents during primetime.
With the imminent start of Peter Capaldi's tenure as the newest Doctor Who on 23rd August, BBC TWO Northern Ireland's presentation team has brought back the superb Exterminate symbol featuring a somewhat specialised Dalek. Many thanks to Paul Reid for supplying the clip.
