On 30th April 2012, the 1974 BBC 2 symbol made a widescreen reappearance before the third part of 'The 70s' documentary which focussed on the years 1975 to 1977.




For the final episode of 'The 70s', BBC TWO's first electronically generated symbol from 1979 was recreated.
Regional Variations
Viewers in Scotland were treated to the network's output with David Allan's continuity, Northern Ireland followed the scripts but were announced locally, whilst viewers in Wales had the pleasure of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, Great British Menu, Mastermind, Gardeners' World and Third Star. They did, however, see the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
