In July 2010, Richard Desmond's publishing group 'Northern & Shell' purchased Channel 5 Broadcasting from RTL. Subsequently the full name 'Channel 5' was immediately reinstated in all continuity, and over the months up until February 2011, a new logo had been used in all print media when advertising the channel. Finally, on 14th February 2011, new presentation was unveiled using the new logo (without the word 'Channel') with elements similar to the preceding package.
A simple ident focussing solely on the Channel 5 logo was introduced in April 2012.
