Spike - a new channel from Viacom and positioned as part of the Channel 5 family - launched on Wednesday 15th April 2015. It is the UK version of the male-skewed American channel.

Though the channel started broadcasting earlier in the day with a cycle of barkers and a full programme at 7pm, Spike officially launched at 8pm with 'Police Interceptors Unleashed'.
