During the 2012 London Olympic Games, BBC Three broadcast 24 hours a day. On Freeview, this was achieved by re-allocating BBC Three's 7pm-onward bandwidth to an additional Red Button service on 302, and effectively closing BBC Parliament to use its 24 hour-a-day bandwidth for BBC Three.From Thursday 26th July 2012 (before it commenced 24 hour programming on 27th July 2012), and for a short duration after programming had finished in the early hours of Monday 13th August 2012, this holding animation played out with continuous music.
