STAR Channel does not have a specific station ident as such - it prefers to use one of several animations that can take on the dual roles of ident and break bumper.

From early June, STAR has been using a set of new idents in addition to the original ones shown above. Two of these animations have a Summer feel to them for the holiday season.

From the beginning of September, STAR has been trailing programmes in the forthcoming new Winter season 2001-2.

Each of these trailers (the one here is for 'Largo Winds') is fronted by this quick flash of the STAR symbol.

And at the start of the new 2001-2002 season in October, an updated version of the above animation was introduced for all of STAR's programme trailers.

Note, as there is no associated jingle for the animation, the following video clip is silent.

There have also been trailers for the films to be shown in the new season.

Since February 19th 2001, STAR has been showing 'STAR News' - a short programme introduced by STAR's resident weather presenter Maria Siniori in which trailers for forthcoming programmes are packaged together - at several programming junctions during the day.

Since December 2000, this 'optical' (a very brief, soundless animation) has been used during commercial breaks - usually to separate adverts selling STAR-related products such as music CDs of programme theme music.

STAR acknowledges that the theatre is an important part of the country's culture and often recommends particular productions to its viewers.

Indeed, many play from the theatre are shown on STAR after they have finished their runs. This is a 'STAR Presents' caption form before one such performance.
